Hello
My name is Stacey Reed
I am a Saint Augustine local offering private dog training services in St. Johns County. I am a certified trainer through Animal Behavior College with over 17 years of experience. I have helped hundreds of families with their fur babies in puppy training, basic obedience, problem solving, and behavior modification. I am a true dog lover and my greatest reward is helping dogs become responsible family members with the development of true confidence and their best behavior. I can help you improve communication and strengthen your bond with your pup for a lasting relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your qualifications?
I became certified in dog training through Animal Behavior College, I am a certified AKC Evaluator, and I have 17 years of experience in transformational puppy obedience training, service animal training, scent and bite work (protection), problem solving, behavior modification, and more.

What is your training methodology?
Operant conditioning (clear understanding of the words "yes" and "no") with a focus on positive reinforcement.

I don’t want to use corrective training tools that make my dog uncomfortable. Can you do positive reinforcement training only?
Absolutely. My training is tailored for you and your dog. :)
How soon can I expect results from training?
You will see improvements after one lesson.
How long will it take for my dog to be fully trained and responsive to my commands?
Your dog will be as consistent as you are. The more you practice the exercises that I teach you, the quicker you’ll get to your goals.
Where does training take place?
I come to your home and possibly incorporate outings.
How far are you willing to travel?
I prefer to stay in St. Johns County, but I am willing to travel further depending on the situation.
How much will training cost?
This will depend on what type of training you are looking for and where you are located, but my prices are generally more affordable than anywhere else in St. John's county.
Can you train reactive dogs (barking, lunging, growling, etc)?
Yes. Reactivity is an overreaction to external stimuli. I can help change the fearful, stressful feelings associated with your dog's trigger(s) to calm, happy emotions so that they change their behavior and become more confident.
How young does my dog have to be for training? When is a dog too old for training?
Training should begin as soon as puppy comes home, around 8 weeks. I do not recommend training dogs over 8 years old.
Can you train my dog to be a service animal?
I can get you started on a great path for service and ESA training. I utilize the AKC’s Canine Good Citizens protocols and evaluations.
